A smart plug and an extension chord works REALLY well. One plug is pretty pricey but you could use it to turn 3-4 lamps on and off. Bulbs are LED nowadays too so it’s pretty safe

I do this too and I have my lights on a schedule to turn on at 6pm and then off at 1am. Love it

100% prefer Apple HomeKit. Switched from trying Alexa to Google home for 2 years, the Apple HomeKit system is much more reliable and seamless
