Gandarma/Gandarmerie is a branch of the armed forces. They also exist in other countries such as France, Hungary, italy etc. I think the idea originated in France and was adopted by other countries.

Jandarma is for the rural area police kinda of thing.Police is for the cities or like suburbans, urbans etc. So like if sth came up in rural area police is not competant for it

So there is Zabita, they are around to do random check ins on businesses and whatnot, as my partner says they are just for control🤣then jandarma, they are apart of the army and they do id checks >
