Pretty sure you could use an RJ45 as well. just can't use an 11 for a 45.

ive done a lot of this type stuff and got in the habit of penciling on date of every repair for future reference. this helps identify bigger problems. do you track all repairs?

Easier removal, apply more solder to connect all pins then heat them all and it will just pull out. 💜

if you want your wik to work better. reflow the solder with some fresh leaded solder. this will help the wicking process. also preheating the board to low 300 degrees C will not melt the tabs
