honestly if I were somewhere more remote I'd feel more secure knowing the hosts were upstairs but I've been living in apartments my whole adult life.

Way back in the early days of Airbnb (before the app) you always stayed with the host (on the couch or if you were lucky, spare room) and I loved it. Great way to see a new area
