Some people don’t get theirs other ways to train. Athletes train explosion. Depth isn’t the goal for athletes like bodybuilders and powerlifters. Even as a powerlifter I do explosive squats sometimes.

if he was training for hypertrophy or powerlifting it would benefit him to go lower, but he looks like a runner. he’s probably intentionally squatting high for his goals.
