#npd My dad wasn’t verbally abusive. When he would punish us, it was more of a mental abuse tactic. He’d make us go select our own tree switch. That was painful enough. But it was isolated—between me and my dad. Years later, I would do the same things to my own children. Seeing my grandfather verbally abuse my grandmother was on a whole different level. I hated hearing him speak to my grandmother like that, but from six to eleven years old, I wanted his approval so I laughed when he called my grandmother names and yelled at her to bring his cigarettes, salt, pepper, coke, hot sauce, or slices of bread—and she’d do it! Jimmy Gaither (my grandfather) was short AF! He was 5’-5” and weighed 130 pounds as a grown man! No wonder he was mean! He was called blade as a kid because he’d cut people. A hard worker, played the drums in the military, drove Cadillacs and smoked Benson&Hedges—women loved him, but his mouth was hot!! I wanted that same love and verbal abuse ability because I saw what it did to my grandmother, sadly. I never carried a knife but with my forked tongue—I did cut people that way. He taught me that words make people move. That was a very bad lesson because I took that literally!! My words moved people into bad feelings and emotions as I had gotten older and it was funny to me, just like laughing with my grandfather when he abused my grandmother! It wasn’t funny when those same type of words moved me into a shell, bad feelings and bad emotions, too. I now sow on a whole different level. Generational curses, genetics, abuse, trauma bonds, can all be reversed…it just takes one person to do it, and that one person is YOU!!! ONLY THERAPY CAN GIVE YOU THIS TYPE OF FAMILY INSIGHT!! Thank God for therapists!!❤️🙏🏾
