Native to the Sonoran Desert surrounding Tucson, Arizona, Succutoads are a desert dwelling variety of amphibian known for their unique appearance and psychoactive properties. The thick, gel-filled leaves of a Succutoad are regularly shed as the creature matures. This natural detritus, known as “succies”, is scavenged by a group of local Succutoad enthusiasts that refer to themselves as “Succers”. When Succutoad leaves are consumed orally by humans it causes a distinct shift of bodily perception. “I dunno man, its hard to explain,” said one Succer of the experience, “it kinda just literally makes you feel like a literal toad. With the big eyes and the long tongue and shit. It’s a quick high though.
