a martini is a glass of alcohol, it’s just gin/vodka, vermouth, and olive juice — if you don’t like the taste of alcohol, you probably won’t like a martini (and that’s fine)

Too many bartenders undershoot the vermouth in a martini or don’t use good vermouth. Most of the time you are getting 4oz of chilled ice shard filled vodka or gin.
