@rosspirelli: This is education Day! Rossy needed new sunglasses. We found the store downstairs from my hotel and he picked up some pretty cool ones. He is becoming such a big boy. For some in the visually impaired community, they do not lack full vision. Only around 15% of individuals with eye disorders have complete blindness.Sunlight that does enter into the vision that they have can hurt. Sunglasses can be a help to that. We’re not sure all the way with Ross’s vision is, but we never went him to suffer in silence. Some blind people wear dark glasses to communicate their blindness to others. As Rossy’s parents we like for others to have that understanding so they can adopt helpful behaviors for him. To be clear he doesn’t often need help. He’s a rockstar and he will tell you! This is a reminder that the next time you see a blind/visually impaired person, to just say hello. Give perspective from a sighted world and listen and learn from a world that’s different than yours!
