I just saw a standard poodle survived bloat but got asp. Pneumonia, GI paralysis, splenic clots, and liver disfunction. $47,582 later, dog is home.

You were right I could see his stomach was boated up ~ so can this surgery be done before they bloat ~ is that what I am understanding also 🥺

We got a standard poodle that suffered from hook worms at the breeder before we brought him home. Still recovering from that he bloated from water at like 4 months old. He’s a happy boy now was scary

My family lost 2 Danes one English sheepdog they are not as common to do the surgery when we had those dogs. One of the Danes died while trying to stop the bloat his heart stopped surgery 2 long

Have definitely stayed late/gone in for GDV. Any of my non breeding dogs get pexied. We push it HARD, it’s $600 add on or $10K out here at ER.

I got my Saint Bernard a gastropexy when I got him and the people that rehomed him to me were SO upset I did that and I never understood why. I do not regret my decision 😅

My Saint has pexy but it’s important to realize gpexy gives you time not immunity. If you have a predisposed dog you need to have a bloat kit and no what to do
