I so agree with this. I’m 60 and start school with nothing. Didn’t even buy a notebook until 4th grade. How did my parents pay less in taxes and had a better funded school

What's also sad is that districts depend on the state to give them money too and many base that funding off of test scores. How are the kids supposed to learn if they don't have what they need?

That's on your superintendent. Our school gives iPads K-8 and Mac Books 9-12. Our teachers starting salaries are also 15-25k over the surrounding counties. We pay more in taxes but moved here for that

I never had to buy school supplies when I was little, in California! They used to provide paper and pencils and books. that's all we needed. This us why I sent my kids to private school through HS
