Final Hardware configuration Demonstrator Martin-Baker US18E F-16 escape systems upgrade. On display a few years back at the F-16 Technical Users Group Convention held in Ogden Utah. This show is an annual event specifically meant for domestic and international F-16 Operator's on the Maintaince and Rework and Overhaul side. Companies who make parts for the actual aircraft as well as specialty tools, and fixtures and other Maintaince aids. Martin-Baker used our single seat actual (cut down to this size) F-16C Cockpit to demonstrate the fit and feel of their newest offering, a replacement of the previous (good but 50 year old ACES II design) Seat used in the F-16. This seat is State-of-the-Art, and has much improved Human Factors, Sequencer Electronics, and very importantly the capability of being installed and removed by one person, with no Complex Canopy Removal and or special cranes, or equipment. The seat breaks down into

The seat breaks down into "Bite" sized pieces that one person can remove and install alone (although I bet it will be a 2 person activity in actual conditions- that said, any "Old" F-4 Phantom Egress Tech will tell you stories of doing the same thing- the Phantoms H5 and H7 seats did this 60 plus years ago. Female and or small stature pilots as well as those of larger weights and heights both have more seat bucket up/down actuation range, which reflects the Aircrew Bodies of today's military much more safely...including some who might not have fit into previous cockpit/seat designs based on Human Male Average Population in the 1960s.
