my first year I barely made anything but I’m 5 years in and very successful now! It takes time to build a clientele!! You have to make a reputation! Don’t give up! If you this passion it will pay off!

It takes an average of 5 years in the industry to really get settled as a stylist. It’s a long haul and most people get burnt out in the first 2. It’s hard, but in the end, it can be amazing

I work at a Corporate salon and get PTO, sick leave, and benefits. As a brand new stylist I make 22k, the higher tiered stylists I work with make up to 85k a year. Stop going to private salons

I feel you. I used to love hair and this year in the industry has made me hate hair. The instability, the salon owners, the crazy co-workers.. I'm over it. I'm leaving the industry as well

This is so real. I left the industry after only a few years. It was not good for my mental health. The environment was toxic. The pay & lack of benefits is not sustainable. This is the reality.💔

It’s so upsetting it takes around 5+ years to really get established and having no support system makes it even worse. I know that I paid $21k for my schooling and I feel like I made a mistake

I’m ngl I worked in a salon for a year and I left bc THE PEOPLE! Omfg I thought high school was bad!! My grown adult 65 year old boss talking about me behind my back TO HIS CLIENTS! Absolutely not.
