@nick.mckim: I was in the Hobart Magistrates court today when Bob Brown and two other forest activists Kristy and Karen were found guilty of peacefully defending Swift Parrot habitat from industrial logging. Massive thanks to all of them for their courage and their conviction. The swiftie is a beautiful little bird which is the fastest parrot in the world. It is critically endangered with less than 1000 birds left, but Tasmania’s government is logging it into extinction by destroying its habitat. Rather than Bob and his fellow defendants in court today, it should have been Eric Abetz and other Labor and Liberal party politicians who are smashing our forests and the creatures who live in them. It time to end native forest logging for once and for all.
