@mango.keebs: this is hands down my current favorite out-of-the-box budget alu pre-built keyboard. the coating is smooth, the switches sound and feel amazing, the board is exactly what i like sound wise - poppy yet creamy with the typical foamy thock (don’t judge me) not to say the ones i’ve tried so far aren’t good as well! i enjoyed them all and they’re all solid options for their price, even stock. nevertheless, i usually ended up swapping out the switches after trying them stock for a while but i don’t see myself changing them for the gx87 tbh! the most i would do is probably swap out the keycaps but even those are really nice and don’t have the slight scratch to their sound like others i’ve used. obviously be raving over the stock sound is highly subjective but this has been my daily since i’ve unpacked it! i can’t wait for more of their top cases to be available for purchase, all the different colors look SO good and with the catch-ball it’ll be super easy to swap out. there are only two things i’d say could be improved - first, the catch-ball didn’t disassemble as smoothly as other ones i’ve tried. it’s still much more convenient than screws though. second, i’m not the biggest fan of the switch/dongle being visible on the backside of the board. sure, it’s more convenient … but not super aesthetically pleasing. the board also unfortunately does not feature a magnetic daughterboard but i feel like im just a little too spoiled now when it comes to that 🤣 starting at only 59USD for the lite version (yes, you read that right) during pre order, i don’t really think those points are something to fuss about tbh. #mchose #gx87 #mechanicalkeyboard #keyboard #customkeyboard #typing #keeb #keebtok
