Aluwani Andries Netshidaulu and Ntombifuthi Phyllis Mokwebo face charges of racketeering, corruption, fraud and contravention of the Immigration Act. Investigators allege that South African citizens’ identity details were paired with photographs of foreign nationals to fraudulently obtain South African passports. Foreign nationals allegedly paid between R50,000 and R100,000 for the passports, while implicated officials allegedly received between R10,000 and R15,000 per application. The investigation has also resulted in hundreds of allegedly fraudulent passports being blocked or cancelled, as well as the seizure of luxury vehicles. The two accused were each granted R5,000 bail. The matter was postponed to 4 November 2026 for further investigations and to allow co-accused Arfan Ahmad to secure legal representation. Further arrests are expected as the investigation continues. #ProjectHumulani #HomeAffairs #PassportFraud #SouthAfrica #NDABANEWS
