You don't have an antenna on it so 5w of power Just going out with no attenuation, that's a good way to cook your transmitter.

you may not be transmitting but you're burning the head because you have to have an antenna to offload the load otherwise you burn up the radio. anyways awesome job brother

But don’t you still need a license because it’s a ham radio? I bought 2 uv5r’s and 1 uv5rm for four wheeling. But I annoyingly knew during purchase that their ham radios. 😔
