there's difference of opinion of what salat means in the verse, but it's meanings that already can said in a different Arabic word, there was no need to use salat as that would confuse people.

this is why original cripture is important..when u learn arabic u will find that pray for and pray upon is a very different meaning even if they hve same root.. so people... dont depend on translation

in Qur'an 33:43 Allah uses the same two words on all of the believers -(and on the prophet in another verse), Allah also commands the Believers to do the same for the prophet, it's not worshipping 🤦
