How I went from my corporate 9-5 job that I hated; feeling depressed, anxious daily to running a successful PT business and living a fulfilling, purpose driven life full of energy ☺️⚡️💖 Let’s be clear the opportuninty didn’t just fall on my lap & it definitely did not come to me easily. I didn’t just wake up one day and know all of the answers & know exactly what career I wanted to transition to. NO. It took alot of soul searching and it took time. I want to share my journey with you in the hope that it can help motivate you to take action, so you can get one step closer to living the life of your dreams, to waking up feeling fucking good every single day. NOT dreading going to work. feeling low energy, BURNT OUT, unmotivated, unhappy, stuck, lost, stressed, depressed and anxious. I know it feels like you are trapped right now but believe me you’re not. You’re just 1 step away from moving in the right direction. These are the steps I took to get me the fuck out of my full time Graphic Design job that was killing my life: 1. The first step I took was figuring out wtf it was that I loved - (what made me happy? what made me feel good?) eventualy i narrowed it down to a few things but the one that stuck out was TRAINING. It was literally the 1 thing in my life that made me happy, made me feel good. It eased my anxiety and depression, made me feel strong, empowered & confident. It was the 1 thing i could control in my life when everything else felt out of control. 2. From there I evaluated my Values, skills, strengths & passions- I got clear AF on my value system, the things i was skilled at & the things that brought me joy (the things I would lose time doing and do for free). 3. I looked at where my Skills & Passions crossed over & linked it to a profession - this so happen to be a Personal Trainer 4. Once I had made the decision on my career path - I worked backwards from my ultimate goal of running a PT Businesss 5. Research: what qualifications do I need, where can I study, how long will it take, what are my options, what is the salary for a PT, what are the hours, how do I start etc. 6. I enrolled in my PT Certifcation 7. I chose to study part time, that way I was still able to pay the bills by working my 9-5. I would train at 6am. Go to work 9-5. Then head into the city after work for TAFE to study PT. The motivation to get out of my corporate job was so high that I would even smash out my work tasks as quickly as possible so I would be able to study PT while I was still on the job. I know what you're thinking - but I can't do that at my job - that's ok it still possible to get there without that luxury, although i was fortuante to be able to study a bit at work I still had to study outside of work it just helped me to complete my certifcation faster. 8. Once I compLeted my first certification, I moved on to the next certifcation - during this time I started looking for work in the fitness industry. I knew I wasn't completely qualified yet but I wanted to get my foot in the door. I was fortunate enough to land a casual job working at F45 which I ran classes in the mornings before my corporate job. - mind you I was doing 12+ hour days as well as fitting in time to train myself and study/do homeowrk & juggle a relationship, social life etc. 9. In the lead up to completing my qualifications to become a PT I started applying for jobs in the industry - it wasn't long after that I landed 2 PT jobs 10. I handed in my notice at my corporate job worked the 4 weeks (one of the happiest days of my life) and the rest is history! if you are stuck in your shitty job right now and want change, if you want to be happy. You need to commit and you need to go all in. Follow the steps above!,Once you start taking action in the right direction, youll start to see progress and the momentum and drive will build.
