@forrestfromtexas: Galveston has been called the “Ellis Island of the West” and that is highlighted at the historic seaport Ship to Shore exhibit. It tells the story of immigration in the 1880s in Galveston for those coming to Texas or further west. Galveston was a booming town and busy port in this time. I thought it was pretty interesting, while my ancestors cames decades prior it still gave a great idea of the hardships many immigrants faced on their journeys. #galveston #texas #texashistory #ushistory #immigration
