Spot on! I have an Eastern European gynecoid pelvis & diligently trained in the Lamaze natural childbirth method. All of my labors were 3 hrs long, fearless, almost painless & joyful.

Typically the more kids you have the faster the labour. 1 kids takes longest and by #5 it can be really fast. Most western parents do not have +3 so it’s kinda a moot point.

I think labor is SO dependent upon your mindset!!! Ina May Gaskin said that she witnessed a mom regress in dilation because she became uncomfortable.

I think that This culture welcomes large families. Second delivery + is usually shorter due to the body recognizing the path traveled in labor previously.

I have a theory on why labor is “feared”. When people talk about their labors, I feel like they really emphasize the pain, and scare new mama about how bad it hurts, how long labor is.
