Finger tip wall push offs, dumbbell reverse curls, and dumbbell wrist curls are effective regressions 🏋️‍♂️🔁 BARBELL ROTATIONS This is a fantastic exercise to develop forearm strength that will contribute to stiffness of the punching arm at the end of a punching action.  Performing this with a 20kg barbell as seen in the clips above is a remarkable display of strength.  We would advise progressing to the barbell by using a broomstick initially, before progressing on to lighter dumbbells and barbells and then finally the 20kg barbell.  💪💥 CLAP PIKE PIKE PUSH UPS This is a really interesting variation of a push up that offers an added core challenge Despite Berterbiev displaying impressive technique, many will struggle to demonstrate similar control, thus reducing the effectiveness of the exercise and ultimately failing to develop the qualities mentioned above. If aiming to increase upper body explosiveness using push up variations, band assisted push ups are a fantastic variation TRX and Swiss ball pikes are useful alternatives that have the added benefit of activating the serratus anterior, also known as the ‘Boxer’s’ muscle and plays a significant role in the punching action.  #boxing #boxingscience #boxingtraining #mma #UFC #beterbiev #strengthandconditioning
