He’s a coward who ran when called to war. Then lied about rank and service. He refused to be deployed. He was still there when he

I would wager a bet that many of those complaining didn't spend any time in the armed forces. - 8 yr USAF vet here.

Choosing to retire after 20 for any reason is honorable and just. Anyone questioning it clearly has never served for 20 plus years

BIL dud something similar. He had served in Naval Reserves plus some active for over 20 years. They were gonna ship out but he had a civilian job he liked and just wasn't up to it so he retired. No shame it's life.

At his rank he could have stayed 30 years or more but most people retired after 20 24 is a long military career and admirable.

Did he retire when he found out he was going to be deployed? Is that true or not?

People don't know how retention works. Not alot of people are selected to go passes the usual 20, and you're free to leave at the ended of any contract even when you're offered another passed 20.

The claim is that he got out, reenlisted after 9/11 for a 6 year contract, served 3.5, and retired. Is retiring mid-contract usual for older guys?
