Damp hair, smaller curlers, setting lotion diluted with water on each curler, sleep in them overnight, then brush them out in the morning. I have stick straight baby fine hair and it works every time.

Get a little bottle of setting lotion off Amazon (make sure it’s a brand that can be used with & without heat). To dilute it pour a 3:1 ratio of water:setting lotion in a lil dollar tree travel spray bottle. Spray it on to DAMPEN ur hair (not saturate it sopping wet), run some volumizng mousse thru ur roots to ends (again, just evenly dispersed, NOT SATURATED. Let ur hair air dry til its about 70-75% dry, then using good tension & a BIG pack of smaller rollers (1in-1.5max is all u need for ur current length to get the lift & curl u want. The larger the roller, the less curl/“shaping” u get), do it just how u did but be mindful of where that bar connector part sits on the hair so u don’t get those creases and lumps. I have never tried it but you have such silky hair so maybe you could try something like sea salt spray before you put the rollers in? it might give some texture

maybe leave them in overnight? those type of rollers work v well for me, but I use smaller ones & use 2 packs. there's always some level of crease though 😅
