The green one is usually chicken and the red one is pork. The stuff on the outside is MASA. What they use to make corn tortillas.

We make tamales in my home the red is normally the pork and the green is chicken with green chilies. I also make my sons sweet tamales with strawberry at Christmas.

My mind is blown to think someone hasn’t had tamales. The breading is masa that is seasoned. Meat inside. A lot of work goes into making them. Canned ones taste like raviolis.
