Don’t know if it’s the same vine, but in central Texas, we just called them Mustang grapes. Of course, that was probably just my grandfather’s accent.

My grandparents had muscadine vines on their property and my grandpa would take me on a “bear hunt “ and all I did was pick muscadines and eat them. Good memories!
