Melanie Lynskey is setting the record straight about how much she really earned on Two and a Half Men, and the actress says the numbers circulating online are wildly inaccurate. The 49-year-old Yellowjackets star played Rose, the unpredictable neighbor who appeared throughout all 12 seasons of the hit sitcom. But recently, an online discussion about the cast's salaries caught her attention. One Instagram user claimed Melanie earned $200,000 per episode. Instead of ignoring the comment, she decided to publicly correct the record.
"Hey! Sorry, but this insane number is floating around on the internet and I must tell you how wrong it is," she wrote. She then revealed that her actual pay was just one-tenth of the widely circulated figure. Her comments came after fellow actress Holland Taylor, who played Evelyn Harper, discussed her own disappointing experience with the show's salary arrangements. Taylor revealed that despite receiving four Emmy nominations during her time on the sitcom, she never received a raise. Meanwhile, the show's creator, Chuck Lorre, recently shared another surprising behind-the-scenes story involving Melanie and Charlie Sheen. In his memoir, Sitcom, Lorre recalled Sheen struggling to remember his lines during his final scene with Melanie in Season 8. He said the situation became so concerning that production had to shut down. Jon Cryer also previously discussed how the show's enormous success didn't necessarily translate into impressive residual payments for every cast member. Melanie's revelation is a reminder that even starring in one of television's biggest sitcoms doesn't always mean earning the enormous salaries people assume. Were you surprised to learn how much Melanie actually earned compared with the rumors? \#MelanieLynskey #TwoAndAHalfMen #CharlieSheen #HollywoodNews #celebritynews
