I have a big stump that I light like that for a small fire to sit by and read. I learned it from a survival book and it’s one of my favorite skills. I’ve had it for probably 2 years now.

Anyone wanting the straw, be sure it is a grass and not a hollow stem of something that may be hemlock. No flowers or compound leaves. Grass or bamboo only!
