@chasseurdesons: The sounds of a marsh ground 🌱 Walking along the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec City, I discovered the marsh of "Anse au Foulon". I recorded the sound of the marsh ground composed of mud, plants and tiny insects living in the water. This marsh is home to an exceptional flora of endemic plants. These species must adapt to the varied tidal conditions. The length of time they are submerged by the daily tides determines the composition and succession of the plant communities. So, from the shore to the open sea, there is a succession of different habitats. The coastline is subdivided into three zones: the upper, middle and lower shores. The upper shore is almost always flooded. The middle shore is flooded twice a day. The lower shore is almost always flooded and is generally poor in vegetation. The diversity of habitats provides favourable conditions for a large number of species. #aesthetic #science #nature #pourtoi #fyp
