@danesiiii: Where do I even begin? 2023 was one of the most intense years of my life, second only to 2020. It was a year of deep self-reflection—a time when I decided to reframe my entire existence. This was my “year of 7,” a period of introspection, during which I made a secret promise, a Promesa, to honor my orishas for their special favors. I vowed that to change my life, I would grow my hair out. Now, I know hair might not seem like a big deal to some, but as a Afro Cuban woman, my hair has always been deeply significant to me. For a long time, whenever life got tough, I’d cut my hair. So, with 2023 being such an uncomfortable year, not cutting my hair felt like a big sacrifice. But I stuck to my promise, believing that growing my hair would be a symbol of the change I was striving for—and because of this commitment, I ended up making one of the biggest events in my career happen. “Warm abundance” is the flow of safe, vibrant energy that comes when you listen to your inner voice. This is the energy that helps you create your own reality. On the other hand, cold abundance is what you experience when you ignore your higher self, going against your core needs and desires, serving only yourself. It leaves you feeling unsafe in your own body, blocking your energy. At the time, I was actively experiencing cold abundance in my life, and I dreamt that by creating this piece, I could bring warm abundance into my life. As a manifestor, I believed that by first creating a physical manifestation, the energy would alchemize and take over my future life. This piece represents everything that has happened in my life so far, the ultimate gesture of self-love.
