Treated lumber isn’t waterproof. It resistant ant will last longer, but you can’t abuse its property and expect it to last decades.

the way I did it was under my deck it was skirted in 4x4 directly into the concrete and sloped but water can't get to it because it's a covered roofed enclosed deck

🤔in my opinion the garage cracked because of no control joint and the load bearing sides are settling. but I'm not saying your theory isn't wrong.

the post in the ground last just as long as the deck the metal plates rot out faster in the north because of salting the ice

The asphalt should never go right to the foundation..that area has been excavated.drill and pin a concrete pad
