the worst is when they refer to “retail traders” as “liquidity”, as if retail traders actually move the market 🤣

My problem with that argument is that if the institutions have issue filling theirs orders, they are obviously large, so what difference would my 1 contract make. Also if institutions move the markets

Exactly. Just spend 0.0001% time and just set up some reoccurring investment and spend your time maxing out your income and education

So true. Also gotta consider the fact that they employ digital design engineers to develop custom FPGA’s for high frequency applications to get that upper edge.

I really like the room you're in, very chic. I would recommend painting the ceiling to match, though, it would complete the look

Yes z.s. but why do you think it’s retail against institutions or algos? I certainly don’t try to trade with a retail mindset but that doesn’t mean my goals are the same as hft or algos

Buying intra day long calls are a losing game but hedging your calls to a defined risk with vertical spreads etc.) and a technical strategy is what playing the market is all about sometimes intra day

So like… if someone has a strategy and backtests it and it has a statistically significant return… why is that not going to work? Why is that not day trading? Peopledef could trade like using lines/TA

The difference with options tho is that it’s not a zero sum game from a technical standpoint. Market makers hedge their positions to provide liquidity. Their “loss” was a calculated position.

Dude :
People also forget more trades lose than win when factoring in: margin, brokerage costs, tax etc. you need to really win not sometimes win (but lose more in capital terms long term)

So if I did quantitive analysis on my strategy - correctly collected data with relevant data points - all the way back to 9/11… I wouldn’t succeed?
