I've been in the situation where a recommended product failed and ate it 100% because the manufacturer denied warranty, now I rebuild myself and have very few issues.

You can build a 18 speed Eaton for 3500 bucks. yet I have a 05 4l60e bought brand new. It's never had a fluid change. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Those tiny flakes from clutches, metal particles etc can do a lot of damage. Replacing/flushing the radiator coolers is a must .

4l60 for 4k rebuild is a pirate price. That’s bananas. This thing better be decked out in billet parts for that

I have a 4L60E in my 93 Sonoma 4.3 .Can a bad torque converter cause engine severe bog when accelerating from a stop?Continues to bog while slowly building up speed.

In my humble opinion if you don't change those two items you're begging for another transmission problem... That condition has been status quo with a lot of builders for decades

That's certainly the going rate and it's why I learned to do my own work and keep a spare at home to be mailed to me whenever I need it. Always remember, U-Hauls are cheaper than tow trucks.
