my employer has changed the application process to hide the applicants name and, I believe, date of birth as well. I think that's the way forward although that won't stop discrimination further down

I've been asked "are you Muslim?", "how practicing are you?", "Where is your family from?", "Why don't you have a "normal name?". All these questions were for HR roles.

Happened to me-I had telephone assessment & was told I got a placement year at a well known 5* hotel in Manchester so I was happy.sent me CV few mins later was told placement was no longer available.

I had the same experience in Bangor when the manager realised I was english. Was told they were only employing fluent welsh speakers after I'd been told I had the job.

I had a similar situation with registering my daughter for nursery they said no to me at the door my partner went to the nursery and they said yes. When I turned up with my daughter she was shocked.

Exactly 💯 started in Journalism with that institution soon to quit a promising career after realising what I would have to do to get anywhere. Have experienced much more hence went self employed

Despite all these typical obstacles they have some of the top jobs. Must have gone through lots of sweats, sleepness nights, lots of stress & hard work to get those jobs.Deserve medals not segrigation

I’m a professional dog trainer with & have a Muslim name- I have been declined sooo many times for jobs when I send my cv. But when I call & they don’t know my background they beg for me to apply🤷♀️

My mate applied for a basic factory job after me. He got the job offer first, 3 weeks or so before. He's white I'm Pakistani, I have a UK degree and born in UK. My mate was a highschool dropout.

I've got a degree in accountancy and I've applied for 600+ jobs and nothing bared fruit. I went to a job role for Volvo in Huddersfield and got into the job interview yet said no because of experience
