I’m wondering if pex has pfafs and do we want that in our water. It would not be the first time a corp poisoned us.

Hey, as a pro I haven’t an issue with sharkbite. Removing and replacing them has pretty much paid for a whole work van by now.

I realize shark bites haven’t failed yet. And I realize they are easy,…but I think they’re too easy. I just don’t trust them.

They are prone to leaking b/c people do not know how to secure them.

The only bad thing about using crimp rings is that the fitting are smaller and they restrict flow somewhat. They are super easy though.

I used shark bites when I switched from multiturn to quarter turn valves for my toilets. My cousin, who’s a retired plumber, and whose father was a retired plumber, was against it only because it’s not old school. Nothing wrong with the old way, because it’s proven, but maybe in 20 years, these will be considered old school. I like them personally.

Need to show the deburring and cleaning of the copper pipe, to ensure the o-ring in the sharkbite doesn’t get damaged and seals properly
