I played for Coach Bob Finley when Hoover High was Berry H S. in Hoover Alabama. He won state championships and started the history of this program and I can tell you he is rolling around in his grave

I’ve never seen anything like that. Even back in the late 80’s early 90’s..nothing like that. Our coaches knew they were Men and we were boys. They’d challenge us and talk crazy, but nothing like that

It’s crazy bc if he coached 293 games,that means he lead 4-5 practices a week which means he’s lead 1772- 1465 practices, not including off season. Insane!

Completely agree. I played for two HOF coaches and they didn’t have to do anything close to that to demand respect.

The humiliation made me lose love for the sport. Went on to play college football and still couldn’t find my passion for football even though it was much more fun.

Most coaches are. I juked my coach one time because he said the defense sucked so he jumped in, tackled me in the huddle next play because he was mad. This was 1994 he was 34 I was 13

This is sad. I had a son to play at Spain Park in 2011 and 2012 and a son to play at Hoover in 2015 to 2017 and they never had any issues

I treat my players like they are my own kids when they are on the field. I'm tough, but I treat every player with respect. even when I curse, It's never a personal attack. That video is a disgrace.

The respect that an athlete has for a coach goes deep, I’ve had coaches from middle school that I still call coach to this day (I’m 6+ years out of HS) this sucks because everyone does get roped in it
