@mermaid.kayleigh: I am a trained professional shark diver do not attempt. Many of the tiger sharks we swim with get really curious about the back of the boat where the ladder & boat engines are, often biting them due to the electricity they give off. On her next approach to the engines, I waved at Kalihi & lightly splashed at the surface which may have looked like prey to her. Something small, splashing, & white flesh colored could look like a small injured fish. If I were in the water fully where she could see my full size & demeanor her approach would likely not have been on this level & more cautious. I attempted to guide her away from another bite at the engine but they are so strong & powerful its not always easy. Sharks are not puppy dogs & I hope videos like this can show they are absolutely potentially dangerous wild animals. We never really know how they’ll react. Thats how predators are meant to be & they have a vital role in the oceans ecosystems! Shark diving & shark tourism is a key tool in gaining their protection with local governments.
