I think the point is moreso that the way it played out was heavily influenced by US presence and funding and weapons, not that NK is somehow controlled by the US, or that SK is controlled by the US.

In school, we are only taught in the context of the United States, I think Madeline def US centric . I wasn’t even taught the Korean war in school Americans have to teach themselves to learn about it
