the US issue, IMO, was because Huawei were about to enter the US phone market and would have taken so much of the Apple market share. So Apple paid the politicians to block them

Mobile Architect here - Some of your points could be considered as 'contributing factors' but ultimatley it's got very little to with the Huawei ban. It's down to TCO inclusive of spectrum licensing
