Here's my ultimate 3-day weekend guide for Catalina Island (with some more adventurous activities included below, too, cause we're wimps)🏝️ . I personally love Catalina Island, I think it's the perfect getaway from San Diego and I usually go at least once per year. I never understood when people say they don't enjoy it or feel like there's nothing to do, because there is SO much to the Island and it's absolutely gorgeous. Here are all of my tips & tricks for the best weekend! . If you're coming from San Diego, Dana Point is where you'll want to book your Catalina Express tickets from. If you're parking a car I believe it's $40 per night, and add extra time into your schedule as you'll need to park in a specific lot after checking in. I'd try to book the earliest arrival time into Avalon (usually it's by 11:20 AM) to make the most of my Friday, and these tickets book up fast! Arrive for your ferry at least one hour ahead of time to ensure you get the seat you'd want, and if you get motion or seasick, PLEASE take medicine as you'll deeply regret it if not (we've seen people get sick on the boat so many times) . Best Activities 🎉 🌊Explore the Wrigley Memorial ($15 entrance fee, but there is also a hike you can access from inside, so worth it!) 🌊Check out the golf course if you're into golf, it is beautiful! 🌊Mini Golf 🌊Catalina Island Museum 🌊Rent a golf cart (cash only, about $60 per hour and you definitely only need an hour) & explore the Island - there's a pet cemetary that is so sweet and sad, please be respectful if you enter it! 🌊Go on a hike, there's multiple options and they're pretty moderate 🌊Check out their recently added biergarten FLX - they even have cards so you can play games 🌊Rent chairs or a cabana at the @descansobeachclub (OR just ask your hotel for a towel and lay on the sand for no cost) the food here is also delicious (but pricey) 🌊Go snorkeling or kayaking 🌊Go on a Bison Tour 🌊Go on a Zipline 🌊Go to the arcade Best Hotels 🏨 I personally prefer bellancahotel catalina_hotel_metropole & auroracatalinaisland or if you're going with a big group, check out VRBO for some great rentals!
