My go to sprint structure: Start with a dynamic warmup to get the legs stretched out. Then get into prep drills consisting of single, double & triple switches to work on sprint mechanics. Then some straight leg bounds, alternating bounds, power skips and continuous broad jumps. Once I’m warm it’s time to rip it. Rest is key when sprinting, the general recommendation is for every 10 yards you sprint you rest 60 seconds. So 180 seconds after each 30 yard sprint and 240 seconds after 40 yards. 30 & 40 yards may be a little intense if you’re new to sprinting. Can adjust by performing 10-20 yard sprints instead. Big emphasis is on speed so in order to run fast you gotta be well rest, this isn’t a conditioning workout.
