I never understood why pursue a PhD while doing med school. There is no way that neurosurgery is that competitive where you need a PhD to stand out.

Wow. So let me get this straight. You did a 4yr BScn. Undergrad + 3 years Med + 4 yrs PHD + Yr 4 med + Surgical Residency 5-7 yrs + maybe Neuro Sx fellowship 1-2 yrs? Holy s**t woman! That’s amazing!!
