I didn’t let my teacher see my Lisa frank supplies(folders, notebooks) and so I kept mine and eventually she asked how long I’d had them and I said I just got them and my name was inside. I kept it.

Teachers can’t even enforce communal supplies. If your baby comes home with a different folder, you call them up and demand what YOU paid for back or it’s considered stealing. 😊

Communal school supplies are so baffling to me as someone who never had that experience. Like why should you even buy your child the nicer stuff if they probably won’t even be able to use it 1/2

only communal supplies should be hand sanitizer, tissues and scissors. extra items should be accepted as donations from parents who are able to chip in!

Girl I was FURIOUS when I sent my kid with Five Star folders & he came home with a paper folder. Best believe I said some about it 🤷🏻♀️

Or hear me out, leave the cute special items at home for your kiddo to use. If every child at school has the same items, it’s less of a distraction. Like it’s deeper than a lisa frank folder, you’re💚

I might look as a bad person but why if i buy my children Crayola crayons/ markers and Ticonderoga pencils, they come home with dollar tree crayons and pencils...not fair! this year i did same as you

One year I bought the good supplies and the next day my daughter comes home telling me the teacher gave it to someone else. Yeah I had to send a kind message to her teacher.

I remember sobbing my eyes out because my parents bought me special purple & pink glitter pencils when money was tight & my 1st grade teacher tried to take them for “communal supplies”

As a teacher, I make sure my students get their own supplies. Only thing that’s “communal” should be crayons, pencils, markers.
