@surryplace: Custom built-in look, IKEA price. As in literally. This is from IKEA! I have seen these transformations before and was always skeptical about the paint sticking. I figured in a month it would look like crap. Well I tested it out and 1 year later the cabinets look just as good as the day I did them! Link to the products I used in the comments. 1. Assemble base- ikea besta frame 23”x15” 2. Assemble the locker section- Ikea besta frame 23” x 75” 3. Add a besta shelf, 22”x14” and a lappviken door 23” x 25” 4. Secure the pieces together with screws and into the wall studs. 5. Fill shelf bracket holes with wood filler 6. Add trim and secure with compressor nail gun. I used 2” pine between the lockers, and 3” pine on the bench 7. Caulk between all trim and wall gaps 8. Spray primer. Zissner BIN shellac based primer worked amazing with no sanding. This is the KEY for the paint sticking! 9. Spray paint. I used emerald enameled by sherwin williams in Evergreen fog 10. Add hardware and locker hooks . . .
