Two years ago, Joseph Carter, then Dean of Students at Vertus High School, approached me with a vision: to create a competition where students could engage with staff and members of the Rochester LOE community. His goal was simple yet powerful—to build bridges, not walls. I was honored to be a part of this initiative and designed an indoor obstacle course that encouraged teamwork, challenged participants, and brought people together. The event was a resounding success, creating lasting connections and memories. Reflecting on that day, I’m reminded that there are three types of people in the world: 1️⃣ Those who actively work to help and make things better. 2️⃣ Those who harm and make things worse. 3️⃣ Those who do nothing, inadvertently aiding group two. Choosing your group is a conscious decision. I’m proud to have stood with Joe Carter, the students and staff of Vertus High School, and the LOE members who chose to be part of group one. Together, we proved the power of collaboration and community. Thank you for inspiring us all to make a difference. #Leadership #Teamwork #Community #Inspiration #BridgeBuilders #EducationMatters #StudentSuccess #RochesterNY #VertusHighSchool #PositiveChange #Collaboration #ObstacleCourse #TeamBuilding #SupportLocal #YouthEmpowerment #MakeADifference #ChooseKindness #Mentorship #GrowthMindset #BuildingBridges #LeadershipMatters #CommunityEngagement #LOE #GivingBack #BeTheChange #fyp #gonavy #navychief #585 #rochesterny #rochesterny
