Coming from someone who worked at about 15 Maccas stores, dual lane drive thru is way faster than single but only if it is staffed with two order takers

It actually is quicker though. Two cars pull up, one orders, as soon as that car has finished ordering, that second car can have their order taken, while a third car can then pull in where the first was!

I get so mad about the scrolling menu boards and the fact they don’t have a menu for the waiting car to look and decide, I’ve gotta get to the speaker and then I’m panicked.

Yep! I recall once when waiting in the second lane at Maccas recently, the staff member forgot & only took the orders on the first lane😂 So, it defeated the alleged purpose.

they make you move forward to the coffee pick up area at night too so their metrics don't look bad when you're there to pick up food.

The extra lane means that a driver can manoeuvre into position and have extra time to look at the menu and make up their mind. At McD scale, seconds of wasted time per order is big $$$ over time.

No, 24 nuggets is cheaper because it uses a full bag of nuggets. Prior to double runs becoming policy, a 24 pack would use a full run instead of leaving 4-5 nuggets in the tray
