Bulgarian split squats are one of my favorite leg exercises, so I decided to spice ‘em up even more with this super effective variation. It’s my new favorite! Start with your body weight alone to get the hang of it. Your weight alone might be all you need to get the most out of this exercise & that’s more than okay! The split deadlifts really target those hamstrings, while the Bulgarian split squats light up the glutes. Finally, the lunges work the quads & the calves are also working throughout the entire movement. Not to mention, because this is a unilateral exercise, it forces you to work each leg equally to avoid or improve any muscle imbalances. Because you have to balance on one leg, this exercise also helps improve your stability & core strength!
