@joyjoysfitness_: Some may say this year has been a blessing and a curse. I have been faced with many challenges and many set backs. During my cut to the 63’s for nationals prep, from the lack of food my OCD became severe to the point of not being able to go to the gym to train for about 2 months straight. Getting diagnosed with OCD has by far been the hardest thing I have ever gone through. My strength has decreased drastically due to loss of appetite from medication to help my OCD. It has been a struggle to get back into powerlifting knowing where my strength use to be and where it is now. It has been discouraging seeing myself not able to rep out weight I used to do easily. I often beat myself up now at the gym, but today I reminded myself of something…the past is in the past and we can’t do anything to change it. The only way to go is forward. My only option is to keep pushing, and to not give up. Even when I feel hopeless and like I will never be where I was, the only thing I can do is keep pushing and to believe in myself. Keep going and never give up no matter what life throws. ✨🤍
made respect for posting this aspect of it too though 👍

The caption is so real , nobody talks about how hard it is to find the motivation to get back into the gym when you feel yourself lose so much progress.

It may have set you back from where you were and would like to be right now, but I believe everything happens for a reason and I know that you’ll come back even stronger than before 🤞🏼

Obviously dealing with a lot, so I can’t compare. But from experience i can tell you a big part of it is the mentality you have coming into the gym. Get your confidence back! You still have it in you
