HR doesn't terminate, it's the employee's manager. A lot of the time managers bypass HR and will work with leadership to terminate employees. In other words, don't trust your manager.

I asked for similar accommodations and was fired after a month. the severance package was contingent on me signing a document saying I wouldn't sue. I couldn't afford not to take it.

It’s a shame. Work is not life, it’s to support life. Life without health is not existent, so health is more important than anything else including work. This is the overall thinking in Europe.

As a former middle-manager at a large company, we would go to HR to ask how to fire someone without grevious repercussions. HR isn’t there to protect the employee.

I went through BC and radiation. The assistant principal put in my record that I took too many days off or was late(radiation was at 7am school started at 8:55). 🤦♀️

I work in HR. Really horrible to see these practices. Working on a Indian reservation we're not subject to ADA, however we still make accommodations for things like this where I work. 😵

I’ve got to get allergy shots 2x a week for 15 weeks. At least one of those days a week revolve around me working. My boss is used to me calling her and telling her I’m leaving.🤣

Rookie mistake. HR should know to wait at whatever legal interval that is required. When we got RIF'd from Cisco, those same roles couldn't be posted for 6 months
