For the frangipane: 1.Cream the softened butter and icing sugar together. 2.Add the egg, ground almonds, and vanilla seeds (scrape from the vanilla pod); mix well. 3.Add the pastry cream and mix until smooth. Optional: Enhance with zest or orange blossom water.
